Hello Sigma community! Another week of building, improving, and tightening the learning experience from the inside out.
Here is what moved forward.
Progress on the Sigma LMS
The Sigma Coding Portal (our LMS) moved significantly closer to launch this week! Frontend deployment is underway, CMS setup for lessons and programs is complete, and both tech and education documentation checks were wrapped up. A new take-home test for course creators was also created to ensure higher consistency and quality across future lessons.
Some key updates include:
- CMS setup and documentation checks completed
- Database and deployment flow prepared
- New course creator test released
All of this means faster curriculum updates and a more stable learning platform for students.
Curriculum and Learning Improvements
We continued strengthening the foundations of the learning journey.
Some highlights include:
- New beginner-friendly lessons for the CMS curriculum such as “What is a Website” and “HTML”
- Accuracy checks on course materials
- Improvements to internal education documentation
Automation and System Upgrades
Behind the scenes, we improved a few systems that directly support your day-to-day learning.
- Attendance automation was refined
- LMS testing responsibilities were reassigned for faster iteration
- New Sentry tickets were logged to improve issue tracking
These changes contribute to a more reliable and predictable platform.
Content & Social Proof
We shipped several pieces of content designed to inform, inspire, and support learners at different stages of their journey.

This week we released:
- A new UGC style video titled: “Dude switch up after ONE day of a Coding Bootcamp”
- A student review regarding Dickson, a former student’s experience with us
- A fresh carousel about our often pointless conviction that a new year magically brings change
- A new student success carousel highlighting Jia Hao’s inspiring story
- A podcast with one of our very own developers, Su (more on his story below)!
These pieces serve not only to entertain but also to help students learn from real stories and stay connected to the wider tech community.
Community and Student Experience
A number of meaningful improvements were made to strengthen the community and make student life smoother.
This week we:
- Improved the onboarding experience
- Continued progress on SIGMA merch
- Created a playbook for community engagement
- Built a playbook for end-of-module sessions
- Launched a student progress monitoring system
These upgrades help us support each cohort with more structure, transparency, and care.
Student Success Story of the Week: Su
Before tech, Su was working at a music studio in KL, living pay cheque to pay cheque and wondering what came next. A friend mentioned coding bootcamps, and after comparing options, he found Sigma School on Google and decided to take a real shot at changing his life. While studying, he interned on Codeo and built a Spotify playlist-cloning app for his capstone project, the first moment he felt the spark of “I can actually do this.”

After graduating, he landed his first developer job quickly, but the company’s chaotic hours pushed him to quit without a backup. The next two months were stressful, surviving on small commissions and hoping something steady would appear. Then Deric messaged him about an opening at Sigma School. Su joined on probation, became full time, and now works on Jobier and the new LMS, helping build the very tools future students will learn from.
Looking back, he says switching from music to tech was scary but worth it, and his advice is simple: if you want to make this leap, you need to be all in. Only then does the path start opening up.
